The Flying Fig has long been at the forefront of the farm-to-table movement. In our fifteenth year, it remains our goal to support small family farms and local food artisans while creating critically acclaimed menus that evolve frequently to reflect seasonal availability. Our bar features a large, diverse wine list and craft cocktails prepared with local, fresh, and seasonal ingredients. Our atmosphere reflects our diverse neighborhood and is casual and friendly.
Karen Small, a staunch supporter of sustainable agriculture, is the owner and Executive Chef of the Flying Fig. Before opening the Fig in 1999, she worked at the 9th St. Grill in the Galleria, the original Fulton Bar & Grill, and owned Jezebel’s, a bakery in South Russell. She loves giving back to the community by working on benefits for local non profits as well as teaching cooking classes, that encourage healthy eating for children and the financially challenged.
